I'm currently CEO of Multiply.com, based in Jakarta, Indonesia. It's very very exciting.
I've been building websites, both commercial and civic hacks, since about 1995. Sites included the original UpMyStreet, TheyWorkForYou.com, FaxYourMP.com, and the delightful www.moo.com. I did most of this in London, but in August '09 moved to Cape Town, South Africa, to be CEO of Mocality.
Then I ran E-Commerce in Sub-Saharan Africa, for MIH, which included
Mocality (Kenya),
and
Dealfish (Kenya ,Nigeria)
Hence, I'm travelling a lot. You can always find where I am on Dopplr, and I'm on most forms of networking as 'smagdali'
If there's a common thread to my work, it is making obscure data and knowledge available to citizens. Except when it's about doing really cool printing stuff. Or being a shopkeeper.
